On 12th February 2010, kReSS went for their first outing at Bota Kiri. Visiting the famous Rumah Kutai, which soon will be our research headquarters. With the assistance of En. Firdaus Fadzil, we left UiTM Sri Iskandar at 10am sharp and went for a journey of 20 minutes by car to reach our destination.
The main objective of going to Rumah Kutai was for doing clean ups / ‘bergotong-royong’ and moreover having the first sight of our own headquarters. Upon reaching, we went through a ‘kampung’ area which we witness the life of our ancestors. Old women are still on their old bicycle buying groceries, kids are still happily free swimming along Sungai Perak. It was priceless.
We reached Rumah Kutai and started doing chores cleaning the area. Because of our hard work and cooperation, we manage to finished raking up dry leaves and dust out all ‘sawang’ in Rumah Kutai. The best thing of all, we ate Honey BQQ Chicken Wings for lunch! It was delicious and everyone enjoyed it by the look on their faces. After finished eating them, we cleared the Rumah Kutai area and headed home with smiles on our faces as we had the best morning our life.
We will be visiting Rumah Kutai but hoping with more members. There's 30 of us, why not make it a thousand? The more the merrier right?
